AFSOC nominees for Air Force awards Published March 20, 2007 By AFSOC News Service Hurlburt Field Fla., -- Air Force Special Operations Command recently nominated three individuals and one organization for Air Force level awards. Staff Sgt. Michael Passmore, 16th Special Operations Squadron, Hurlburt Field, Fla., is the AFSOC nominee for the 2007 Pitsenbarger Award. The Air Force Sergeants Association presents the award annually to an Airman who performed a heroic act, on or off duty, which resulted in saving lives or prevention of serious injury. Mrs. Ruth Stewart, 1st Special Operations Wing, Hurlburt Field, Fla., is the AFSOC nominee for the 2007 Joan Orr Award. The Air Force Association sponsors the award and presents it to the top spouse in the Air Force. The 1st Special Operations Component Maintenance Squadron, Hurlburt Field, Fla., is the AFSOC nominee for the 2007 Verne Orr Award. Also sponsored by the AFA, this award is presented to the organization which best utilizes human resources. Tech. Sgt. Kevin Bullough, 24th Special Tactics Squadron, Pope Air Force Base, NC, is the AFSOC nominee for the 2007 Vanguard Award. The Non Commissioned Officers Association presents this award annually to one enlisted member from each service who performed a heroic act, on or off duty, which resulted in saving lives or prevention of serious injury.
