Air Force Special Operations Command is hosting this year’s Emerald Warrior exercise at multiple locations from February 16 to March 5. This joint exercise provides realistic and relevant training to prepare special operations forces, conventional forces, and international partners for crises and contingencies.

Emerald Warrior applies lessons learned from real-world operations to provide trained and ready forces to the joint force. The exercise will take place at Cannon AFB, NM, Hurlburt Field, Fla., Camp McCain and Camp Shelby, Miss.

This year’s exercise continues the focus on security priorities within the National Defense Strategy.  Specifically, competing against near-peer adversaries and addressing great power competition.  Pivotal to this effort are trained, credible forces and strong international partnerships. Partner nation participants for this year include Lithuania and France.  Emerald Warrior hones the skills of participating units and is an opportunity to test future concepts.  In line with AFSOC’s Strategic Guidance, the exercise fuels on-going innovation and experimentation efforts within the command.

Residents near training locations may experience increased military activity in their area. All training occurs at designated sites, coordinated with local authorities. Please direct media inquiries to AFSOC public affairs at (850) 884-5515.
