The last A7 directorate hosts Irish Wake-themed ceremony
HURLBURT FIELD, Fla. --
To celebrate the memory of the last A7 directorate in the Air Force, the Air Force Special Operations Command A7 staff hosted an informal ceremony here Sept. 30.
The AFSOC A7 directorate is part of A4 as of Oct. 3, 2016.
“It doesn’t matter who is in charge, it’s about supporting the warfighter … supporting our Air Commandos,” said Col. David Piech, AFSOC’s last A7 director, at the Irish Wake-themed ceremony.
Piech presented commemorative A7 coins to the last A7 members in the Air Force.
After receiving a coin, the staff had the opportunity to burn their A7 items.
