A spooky gunner

SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Tech. Sgt. Jim Jochum searches for threats from the ground and in the air. As an aerial gunner on an AC-130U Spooky Gunship, he also serves as a scanner. He completed his 150th combat mission on an AC-130U on July 6. The aircraft's primary missions include close-air support for convoys, air interdiction of targets and force protection for base defense. Sergeant Jochum is assigned to the Air Force Special Operations Detachment at a forward-deployed location and is deployed from Hurlburt Field, Fla. (U.S. Air Force photo by Capt. Denise Boyd)
