Major General MICHAEL E. MARTIN Maj. Gen. Michael E. Martin is the Deputy Commander, Air Force Special Operations Command, Hurlburt Field, Florida. The command is the Air Force component of U.S. Special Operations Command. AFSOC provides Air Force Special Operations Forces for worldwide deployment and assignment to unified combatant commanders with approximately 20,800 active duty, Reserve, Air National Guard and civilian professionals. Maj. Gen. Martin graduated from Texas A&M University and received his commission through Reserve Officers’ Training Corps in December 1992. Prior to this assignment, Maj. Gen. Martin was the Director of Operations, United States Special Operations Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. Maj. Gen. Martin has spent his career in special operations, the air staff, joint combat assignments as well as numerous combat deployments.
