801st SOAMXS tends to Hurlburt's CV-22 fleet

Airmen assigned to the 801st Special Operations Aircraft Maintenance Squadron perform routine maintenance on a CV-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft at Hurlburt Field, Fla., Jan. 9, 2017. The 801st SOAMXS provides regular maintenance for the Osprey assigned to the 8th Special Operations Squadron.

A dedicated corps of crew chiefs supervise and coordinate care of their aircraft, such as detailed inspections, diagnosing malfunctions, replacing components and day-to-day maintenance.

Maintenance specialists assigned to the 801st are responsible for servicing, phase inspections, troubleshooting, repair, modifications and launch and recovery of the aircraft.
