The 720th Special Tactics Group will host the formal dedication of its new Special Tactics and Advanced Skills Training facility, across from the Aderholt running track, 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Former Secretary of the Air Force, Dr. James G. Roche, will serve as the keynote speaker for the event.

The state-of-the-art complex will enhance the training capabilities and ensure a quality educational experience for AST students preparing to meet the challenge of the 21st century battlefield.

The facility will be dedicated in honor of Staff Sgt. Casey Crate, Capt. Derek Argel and Capt. Jeremy Fresques. The facility will be called the "Crate Center of Excellence" which encompasses the Argel Aquatic Center and the Fresques Auditorium.

In conjunction with this event, the 720th STG will also dedicate Servais Way, the street adjacent to the new AST facility, in honor of Senior Airman Adam Servais.

The three special tactics operators were AST course graduates and all four were members of the 23rd Special Tactics Squadron.

(Editors note: The west end parking lots at the Aderholt Fitness Center will be closed for parking effective 8 a.m. Wednesday for the Advance Skills Training building dedication ceremony. All squadrons doing physical training on that day need to make other arrangements. In addition the football field and the track will be closed until after the ceremony.)
