(AFSOC News Service) -- Seven Air Force Special Operations Command units have been awarded the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award. They are: 353d Special Operations Group, AFOUA with valor, for the period 2 September 2004 to 1 September 2006. 18th Flight Test Squadron, AFOUA, for the period 1 October 2005 to 30 September 2006. 16th Mission Support Squadron, AFOUA, for the period 1 October 2005 to 30 September 2006. 16th Contracting Squadron, AFOUA, for the period 1 October 2005 to 30 September 2006. 16th Comptroller Squadron, AFOUA, for the period 1 July 2005 TO 31 August 2005. 16th Operations Group, AFOUA, for the period 1 September 2004 to 31 August 2006. 16th Maintenance Group, AFOUA, for the period 1 July 2004 to 1 June 2006. Maj. Tom Robbins, commander of the 1st Special Operations Mission Support Squadron, said the records for qualifying personnel will be automatically changed through a batch update. That update may take a few weeks to become effective, however, so personnel are requested to allow some time before making inquiries on the awards. "If someone doesn't notice the change within 30 days, they should contact their command support staff and they can work it individually," said Major Robbins, "but that person must have been assigned to the qualifying unit during the specified periods." Any members assigned to the units for any duration of the specified dates are authorized to display the award as part of their uniform.
