Gather your W-2, 1040EZ and 1040 forms and head to the Hurlburt Field Tax Center; tax season is here.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, tax season officially started Jan. 20, and for Air Commandos the Hurlburt Field Tax Center will be open from Jan. 21 through April 15.

Hurlburt Field Tax Center is located inside building 90320, the same building as the Airmen’s Attic. Currently, they are only taking walk-ins from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Starting Feb. 2, the Hurlburt Field Tax Center will begin taking appointments on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Tuesdays and Thursdays will remain walk-in days. Monday and Friday appointment times can be made between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., while Wednesday appointments can be made from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“On Wednesdays, we hope to accommodate shift workers,” said Aaron Dean, Hurlburt Field Tax Center site coordinator.
The tax center volunteers are available to help Active Duty, retirees, and civilian Air Commandos this year.

“Last year we had 30 volunteers,” said Wayne Smith, Hurlburt Field Tax Center site coordinator. This year we have 45 volunteers here to help the Air Commandos file their taxes.”

During last tax season, the Hurlburt Field Tax Center completed 1,300 returns, saving $250K dollars in tax preparation fees, and earning customers more than $3M in refunds.
