AFSOC nominates Cannon Air Commando for National Public Service Award Published July 20, 2015 AFSOC Public Affairs A Cannon officer is the 2015 National Public Service Award nominee for Air Force Special Operations Command, leaders announced July 17. Maj. David J. Blair, assistant operations officer in the 3rd Special Operations Squadron, built an interagency plan to counter human trafficking, which was awarded an innovation prize and lauded by the U.S. Agency for International Development. His research and academic papers on Remotely Piloted Aircraft culture and resiliency addressed doctrine and long-term manpower risks. The National Public Service Award recognizes individuals with agency-wide responsibility who exhibit the highest standards of excellence, dedication and accomplishment over a sustained period of time, and who are creative and highly skilled career managers at all levels of public service The award is sponsored by the American Society for Public Administration and the National Academy of Public Administration.
