AFSOC nominates Defender for LATINA award

HURLBURT FIELD, Fla. -- A senior NCO assigned to the Installations and Mission Support directorate is Air Force Special Operations Command’s nominee for the 2015 National LATINA Symposium Distinguished Service award.

Master Sgt. Gloria Bermúdez-Bly will represent the command at the symposium Sept. 9 in Washington D.C.

As AFSOC’s security forces integrated defense program manager, she improved base defense support and operational capabilities across four wings and two groups. Her efforts protected more than 250 aircraft and 16,000 personnel.

Bermúdez-Bly is also active in her community. She was a team leader for the 2015 Emerald Coast Mud Run for Orphans, assistant manager for the Navarre United Soccer team, and an avid volunteer within Navarre’s school system.
