Maj. Allison Black, Secretary of the Air Force Public Affairs operations communication team chief, shared her experiences in modern warfare with more than 700 veterans during the American Legion mid-winter conference March 22, 2011, in Washington. The former AC-130H Spectre evaluator navigator recounted how she and her crew flew into Northern Afghanistan insurgent territory in 2001, while assigned to the 16th Special Operations Squadron at Hurlburt Field, Fla.
