A spooky gunner

SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Tech. Sgt. Jim Jochum loads a round into a 105 mm cannon onboard an AC-130U Spooky Gunship. The aircraft is also armed with a 25 mm gun and 40 mm cannon. Its primary missions include close-air support for convoys, air interdiction of targets and force protection for base defense. Sergeant Jochum is an aerial gunner assigned to the Air Force Special Operations Detachment at a forward-deployed location and is deployed from Hurlburt Field, Fla.
