A spooky gunner
SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Tech. Sgt. Jim Jochum loads a 40 mm gun on an AC-130U Spooky Gunship. Sergeant Jochum is an aerial gunner assigned to the Air Force Special Operations Detachment at a forward-deployed location. He completed his 150th combat mission on an AC-130U on July 6. The aircraft is armed with a 25 mm gun, 40 mm cannon and a 105 mm cannon. Its primary missions include close-air support for convoys, air interdiction of targets and force protection for base defense. Sergeant Jochum is deployed from Hurlburt Field, Fla.
