Malian MEDCAP

Dr. (Maj.) Sanjay Gogate, 352nd Special Operations Group, watches while a Malian doctor examines a patient at a medical civil action program (MEDCAP) recently in Bamako, Mali. U.S. Air Force and Army medics and volunteers from the 1st Special Operations Wing and 352nd SOG treated nearly 400 Malian men, women and children in just eight hours. The Airmen were in Africa supporting FLINTLOCK, a joint/combined training exercise conducted regularly in the Trans-Saharan region designed to build capacity and foster interoperability among African nations, and conducted the MEDCAP as part of a local humanitarian mission.
