World War II vet receives overdue medals

Francis Weaver, Army technician during World War II, was presented the Bronze Star Medal for his service in Afghanistan by U.S. Sen. Chris Coons of Delaware, April 17. Coons presented Weaver with five medals – the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and the Philippine Liberation Medal for his exemplary service as a member of the 23rd Infantry Division from 1944 to 1946.
