Airmen’s Innovation Leads to MC-130J’s Equipped with Printed Parts
Staff Sgt. Matthew Farmer, 352d Special Operations Aircraft Maintenance Squadron Aerospace Propulsion Craftsman, uses a 3D printer to create protective covers he designed to guard against damage to brittle MC-130J Commando II components and submitted through the Airmen Powered by Innovation program. The API program, incepted in April 2014, has received more than 5,300 ideas and has identified potential cost savings of more than $37 million.
