AFSOC leadership picks Spark Tank Competition semi-finalists

U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Jim Slife, commander of Air Force Special Operations Command, observes an AFSOC Spark Tank presentation by members of the 27th Special Operations Civil Engineer Squadron at Hurlburt Field, Florida, Oct. 17, 2019. The 27th SOCES presented an idea of an airfield joint sealant removal tool. Typically, joint sealant is removed by hand, a taxing and time-consuming process. The tool allows civil engineer Airmen to remove 10,000 linear feet of joint sealant per week. When the task is performed by hand, between 500-1,000 linear feet of joint sealant is removed per week.
