Course Information
Description: The Anti-Terrorism

Officer (ATO) training. Graduates of ATOC will be ATII-certified and can
perform the function of Antiterrorism Officers IAW DoDI 2000.16, DoD
Antiterrorism Standards. AT will be addressed focusing on a basic knowledge of
the motivation, organization, techniques, operational capabilities, and threat
posed by terrorist groups. Strong emphasis is placed on individual protective
measures that can be used to minimize the threat, to include OPSEC
considerations. Students will engage in antiterrorism/force protection (AT/FP)
planning, vulnerability assessments, site surveys, and reporting, as well as
familiarization with the technology and techniques associated with AT/FP
duties. Successful completion of the capstone exercise is required for ATII
certification.
Target Audience: Military officers (O-1
to O-4), enlisted (E-5 to E-8), and US Government civilian employees designated
by the commander to perform AT/FP duties and other individuals involved in or

Selections are made 4 weeks prior to the course start date.
